Book Boyfriends by Mel Curtis

What is a book boyfriend? He’s a character in a book that stays with you long after you’ve read “the end.” I’ve had many book boyfriends over the years. Here are some I’d like to share.

A Duke of Her Own by Eloisa James. The Duke of Villiers was a character in many books in the Duke series before he earned his own story. He’s in need of a duchess with impeccable credentials to introduce his bastard children into society and he has two Duke’s daughters to choose from – Eleanor (who is on record as saying she’ll only marry a duke, and might be in love with another) and Lisette (who cares nothing for decorum, but is either as unique an individual as the Duke of Villiers or a bit mad). Villiers must choose between the woman of his heart and the woman he feels can best protect his children. I love a hero who has to choose between his original goal or dream and the woman he loves!

Natural Born Charmer by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. NFL quarterback Dean Robillard is on an off-season quest to figure out why he’s not happy. He runs across broke, beaver suit-wearing Blue Bailey and his life will never be the same. Humor and healing never made me cry as much as Susan did here.

Into the Storm by Suzanne Brockmann. This might be #10 in this popular series, but it’s #1 for me. Two people who don’t think they’re right for each other plus a serial killer and a huge snowstorm equal one hot mess. Sure, the series has a lot of characters weave in and out of each book, but the sex with Jenk is hot and I can guarantee you’ll be crying at the end.

Romancing Mr. Bridgerton by Julia Quinn. Penelope Featherington hides her adoration of Collin Bridgerton and her occupation as the ton’s juiciest gossip columnist behind hideous, unflattering gowns. When Collin begins to see past Penelope’s fa├žade, he doesn’t approve of her occupation – the unveiling of which will ruin her. Penelope must balance her love of Collin with her sense of self-worth and decide which path she’ll choose. And of course, Collin doesn’t make it easy.

Do you have a book boyfriend you can’t forget?
